Wozniacki gained revenge for her French Open defeat to Francesca Schiavone with a 6-3, 6-2 win over the Italian on Friday night. Wozniacki had far too much power from the back of the court and blasted her way through with brand of aggressive hitting we have rarely seen from her before.
Kuznetsova won the San Diego title a couple of weeks ago so is in excellent form right now. She outplayed Aussie Open semi-finalist Jie Zheng 6-1, 6-3 in the last eight.
Wozniacki and Kuznetsova are locked at 2-2 in past matches playing twice in 2009. Kuznetsova won 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 in the Miami quarters but Wozniacki got revenge at the US Open, winning a classic last 16 encounter 2-6, 7-6, 7-6 on the way to the final.
